The Server Connection window specifies properties for a new or existing adTempus server connection
Target Server
If you are establishing a new connection, specify the server you want to connect to. Select the local computer or enter the name or address of a remote computer.
Authentication
The Authentication option determines how the adTempus service will identify you.
Automatic
When you use Automatic authentication, you do not need to specify a user ID and password.
Automatic authentication can be used when:
You are connecting to the local computer; or
You are connecting to another computer in the same domain; or
You are connecting to a computer in a different domain, but you have an account on that computer that use the same user ID and password of the account that you used to log in on the client.
Use these credentials
In cases where the target server cannot authenticate you automatically, you must provide a user ID and password. The user ID and password must be valid Windows logon credentials for the target computer.
If the account is a domain account, be sure to include the domain when you specify the user ID. Use the form domainname\username. |
Automatically reconnect whenever the Console is opened
If this option is checked the adTempus Console will try to reconnect to this server each time you start the Console. If this option is not checked, the server will still be listed in the Console, but adTempus will not try to connect to the server until you expand its node.
Automatically refresh data from the server
Check this option to have adTempus automatically refresh the console with the latest data from the server. If this option is not checked, you must manually refresh the Console using the Refresh command on the View menu.
