adTempus Engine Mode Utility

The adTempus Engine Mode utility (adtenginemode.exe) is found in the adTempus program files folder. It is used to change the Engine Mode in which the adTempus service on a computer runs:

• Standalone

• Master

• Agent

Resetting an Agent's Master

An Agent can belong to only one Master. The Agent will "lock on" to the first Master that connects to it, and reject any subsequent connection attempts from other Master computers. If you want to move an Agent to a new Master, follow these procedures:

1. In the current Master, delete the Remote Agent definition for the Agent (in the Remote Agents folder in the Console). This is necessary so the current Master does not try to reconnect to the Agent.

2. On the Agent computer, run the Engine Mode utility.

3. Select the Agent mode option.

4. Check the Reset Master box.

5. Click OK to save the changes, and OK to acknowledge the message.

6. Using the Services tool in the Windows Control Panel, restart the adTempus service.

7. On the new Master, create a Remote Agent definition for the Agent (in the Remote Agents folder in the Console). The new Master will now connect to the Agent, and the Agent will lock on to the new Master.
