Auditing and Snapshots Overview
adTempus features two levels of change tracking:
- Auditing. adTempus creates an audit record when an audited event occurs (for example, an object is created, modified, or deleted). The audit record indicates the type and time of the action and which user performed the action, but does not include details of the change. For example, the audit record will indicate that a job was modified, but does not indicate which settings were changed.
- Snapshots. adTempus takes a snapshot of the affected object before the change is applied. The snapshot can later be used to compare the before and after versions of the object, to determine exactly what changed.
Audit records and snapshots appear in the Change Log for each object. You can use the Deleted Objects Window to view and recover deleted objects, if a snapshot was taken at the time of deletion.
Auditing and snapshot settings are configured on the Auditing and Snapshots page of the General Server Options window.
