The SMS Modem Service Provider supports notification using the Short Message Service (SMS) protocol. Messages are delivered to the carrier by modem.
To use this provider, the computer on which the adTempus service is running must have an available TAPI-compatible modem.
If the computer does not have a modem, you can still send SMS messages using the SMS Network Provider.
To configure the service provider, you will need to know the telephone number that adTempus should dial, and other information that determines how adTempus will communicate with your carrier.
To find this information, first try the Import Settings... button. adTempus includes a list of settings for many of the pager carriers.
If your carrier is not in this list, or the settings don't work properly, you will need to check with your carrier (pager or telephone company) to get the proper settings. This information is usually available on the company's Web site. Often you can find it easily by searching for "TAP" or "UCP", which are the two most commonly used modem protocols.
